Urban Slum Program

The challenge

A child’s quality of life (QOL) is affected by growing up in a low-income household; this exposes them to a higher risk of being exposed to trauma, abuse and neglect. There is a need for greater support for children living in low-income areas to ensure that they are able to cope with their current challenges as well as prevent trauma by offering support, information and advice to their families and communities.

Our Solution

Our team through partner schools design programs that offer early interventions and supports children from low-income households to work towards a positive future. We do this through:

Holiday camps
We facilitate holiday day camps that help build the capacity of children from low-income families with lifelong skills . The camps also empower them to be engaged young leaders who can influences their peers and transform their communities.

School-based Programs
We fund and facilitate after- school programs which provide preventive care through lifeskill training and extra-curricular activities like sports, art & STEM programs.

Building capacity of teachers and caregivers
We host workshops that equip teachers and caregivers with skills on how to offer support to children from low-income households by Promoting health (mental and physical) and personal development.
